It's that time of the year again! The lights are up, the carolers are out and 2011 is right around the corner!
Sadly, this means that another year of gaming has come to an inevitable end.
But that also means the first annual dashhacks Video Game Awards has finally come around!
And what better place to host the dVGA's the right here on PSP-Hacks, the original high-traffic site of the dashhacks network that we have come to love?
So members from PS3-Hacks, Xbox360-Hacks and Nintendo-Hacks gather round the fire and cast your votes!
But enough of all that, lets get to the games!
Here's how it's going to work guys and girls;
The categories are going to be:
- PS3 Game of the Year -
- Xbox 360 Game of the Year -
- Wii Game of the Year -
- PSP Game of the Year -
- NDS Game of the Year -
- PC Game of the Year -
- PSN/XBLA/WiiWare Game of the Gear -
From Sunday, December 5th until Sunday, December 12th, nominate your favorite games released between December 1st, 2009 until December 1st, 2010.
You'll have from Monday, December 13th until Saturday, December 18th to cast your final vote!
Winners will be announced Sunday, December 19.
You can enter by either voting in the official voting thread here on PSP-Hacks, or via Twitter.
Simply follow @dashhacks and @dVGA2001 and post a tweet that includes @dashhacks @dVGA2010 and the game you vote to win.
eg.
@dVGA2010 I vote God of War III for PS3, Halo Reach for Xbox 360! @dashhacks You guys rock!
10 randomly selected voters will be chosen, five (5) from Twitter and five (5) from the PSP-Hacks polls.
The winners will get to select 1 copy of any of the top 5 games in each category (minus XBL/PSN/WiiWare). You'll have a selection of 30(!) outstanding games from 2010!
Contest is open to contestants WORLDWIDE*.

ENTRY IN THIS CONTEST CONSTITUTES YOUR ACCEPTANCE OF THESE OFFICIAL RULES.
The Video Game Awards 2010 Contest (the “Contest”) is a contest where participants must submit a vote for a PSP-Hacks Forum preselected "Game of the Year Candidate" via Twitter or via PSP-Hacks to win prizes. The prize(s) will be awarded to ten (10) random participant(s), five (5) whom submitted a vote via Twitter, and five (5) who submitted a vote via the official polls found on PSP-Hacks.
Participants are asked NOT to vote on BOTH PSP-Hacks and Twitter, although this will not be strictly enforced.
We will allow you to place a vote on both PSP-Hacks and Twitter. However you can only win ONCE.
This means will will be allowing a maximum of eight (8) entries per participant, with exception to members who placed a nomination. They will be allowed a maximum of nine (9) entries.
In order to enter the Contest, you must agree to these Rules. Therefore, please read these Rules prior to entry to ensure you understand and agree.
*The contest is open to all participants worldwide, however only North American residents will receive a physical prize. A winning participant located outside of North American will receive a Paypal transfer in the amount of a selected title in the participant's currency.
That may change to their local game outlet shipping them the game, or some sort of online giftcard (eg. amazon). I ("Zero") retain the right to decide on the method but will discuss it with the contest winner in the event they are outside NA.
The draw will take place between December 19-21. Winners will be announced via Twitter, dashhacks and YouTube and then contacted either PSP-Hacks forums PM or Twitter. If you are announced a winner, you may contact me directly at "ChaosZero.PSP <at> gmail.com" to claim your prize.
Please note: Unfortunately, members behind proxies will not be eligible to receive a prize. We apologize in advance to those members legitimately behind a proxy.
Winning accounts must have at least 5 valid posts made on the PSP-Hacks forums in any section to be eligible.
A video will be posted of the official drawing between December 19-24.
There are 10 prizes to be won:
(10) Video Games (PlayStation 3 "PS3", PlayStation Portable "PSP", Xbox 360, Wii and PC (and I guess Mac just to be fair, although you Mac users don't deserve our PC games one bit.).
Again, this is a selection from any 1 of the 30 nominated "Game of the Year" games, excluding XBLA/PSN/WiiWare titles.
Games will not exceed $69.99USD. In the event that the chosen title is not available, a substitute may be selected.
I ("Zero") have full rights to amend to or remove from these rules as I see necessary.
