    Hello,

I was wondering if someone might be able to help me. Sorry in advance for a long story, but it might give you a better idea of the current state of affairs.

I got a G3 16 GB iphone from Dubai with 2.1 firmware installed. My T-mobile SIM was working, I could make calls, but the phone wouldn't identify the sim address book. No big deal.

Since I am totally new to iphones, I was unaware of the whole "do not upgrade" theme and did upgrade in Itunes to 2.2.1. After that my iphone requested a valid SIM card and was only good for emergency calls.

I read numerous posts and did the following:

    1) put my iphone in DFU and restored to firmware 2.2. through Itunes (Windows XP user). The phone got stuck in recovery mode (apple logo and connection to Itunes)
    2) jailbroke with Quickpwn 2.2 and finally got all my nice icons back. The iphone can sync with Itunes (Itunes recognizes it, but it neved asked me to activate or anything.)
    3) Current configuration: firmware 2.2, modem 02.30.03 AND
    4) None of my SIM cards (T-mobile or prepaid AT&T) work in this iphone - "no service" :( They both work in my blackberry.

    Can anyone help please?

How come AT&T SIM isn't working either? I thought 02.30.03 messes up things only if you want to use providers other than AT&T in the US?

Also - would any of the rebel sim cards hepl?

    Thanks!

I don't think a AT&T Prepaid sim works. Don't quote me on that though. For the T-Mobile thing though, you'll have to get a SIM Adapter I know The Operators got a thread for review on the ones out there that'll help you alot. So look around.
