    Hi,

I'm living over in Shenzhen which is right outside of Hong Kong. The other day I bought an iPhone 3g from a friend who didn't like it but also didn't know much about it. I have been trying to figure out if it has been jail broken or if I have the unlocked Hong Kong version. I am able to use my China Mobile SIM card and everything works great.

I have a 16 gb iPhone 3g version 2.2.1 (5H11). Is there anyway to check if its Jailbroken and what kind of Jailbreak it is? Also, is there a way to figure out where the phone actually came from (is it s HK phone, a US phone, a Europe phone)?

I'm also using Mac OS X 10.5 but have access to a windows vista machine if needed.

    Thanks

hey dude.. hmm... there is only one kind of jailbreak..

to know if your iphone is jailbroken go through your apps on the iphone.. if you have cydia and installer then your iphone is jailbroken... if the apps arent there then your iphone isn't jailbroken....

I've looked for those but they are not there. Perhaps it's just sim unlocked, is that possible? Is there anyway to check that?

Your iPhone needs to be jailbroken in order to be unlocked, you proly just don't have Cydia or Installer installed on your iPhone when you jailbroke it.

Iphone 3g will not reboot after "ihaz success". Used QuickPwn 2.2.5 and iPhone1,2_2.2.1_5H11_Restore.ipsw got to "ihaz success" and something downloaded via the blue busy line and got a blue message saying wait for your iphone to reboot but it does'nt reboot. I read an earlier post refering to "Cydia", is this something I should have downloaded to my iphine sperately in order ofr the jailbrake to occur?
