If you download am ipsw of any sort and it has a .zip extension, then you need to change that so it is .ipsw
Very simple to do :
1)Right click on the file.
2)Choose Rename
3)Click on the name so your text cursor is flashing, then click AGAIN at the very end of the file and delete zip and replace with ipsw
4)Click anwhere to finish renaming the file.
(You may have to change the file extension's setting's on your comp. From 'Hidden' to 'Show file extensions and known file type's'
See, it wasnt that hard now was it? ;)

Error when using programs or itunes.
If you get an error of some sort's when using itunes to restore to either a custom firmware or Official firmware, then use THIS list, to diagnose the problem.
However, if you are using redsn0w and all SEEMS to be going fine, then it just stop's Or if the program won't start at all....Or it doesn't see you phone, then try using the following to get it running and set you on your way.
1) Try running the program as Administrator (Right click - run as administrator)
2) Try running the program in XP Compatibility Mode (Right Click - properties - run in Xp Compatibility Mode)
3) Try a different Sync cable. It may seem unlikely, but it MAY have a slight loose connection, which is enough for it to stop everything.
4)Try a different USB Port. Again it may seem unlikely to be this, but it may have a problem, and doing this somtimes resolves the problem.
5)Try using a different Computer. Either another one in your house or borrow from a friend....just whatever. The program may conflict with something you have on your computer.
6) Try a different operating system. Again, if you have access to Windows and it's not working, try getting hold of a Mac. or from Mac to Windows
