    you can add sound by doing something like this:
    Code:
    bgmusic = Sound.load("mono_wav_file.wav")
    bgmusic:play()
    a good place for tutorials can be found by following the links in the
    sticky titled "Important LUA Websites"

    Hey modsyn, every time I play a wav file it messes up. It varies how long/bad it does it, but it gets like..idunno. Like it's corrupted (but plays fine on my comp.)

    Any idea's? I tried the method you posted above with some funny counterstrike .wav's and they mess up.
    Nothing like starting a game to "L L L L UDDACROUSS K;jdofuowu9823f"

    haha

    are the wavs mono? and what sample rate are you using?
    the wavs i used successfully were mono-22050Hz 16-bit little endian pcm.

    I can't seem to get any sounds loading now. Im using a wav from windows and it doesn't load. Doing

    note = Sound.load("notify.wav")

    And it says it can't load the file. bah...haha.

    i don't think that the windows notify sound is mono. as a matter of fact, i'm
    sure of it. here's proof.

    Oh. Haha thanks. I thought I read somewhere that someone said they were using the windows sound files thats why I tried it..bah..i'd feel stupid but im too exausted.

    Do you have any good wav's on hand? I tried googling but finding a site that details their wav's as mono, * Hz and PCM is hard, and I ran out of time (im still at work and was when I was looking)

    c'mon guys, it's not that hard, just use goldwave or adobe audition, easy as a snap.
    save as...format...there you go :)

    btw, modsyn, is there a way to convert a midi to a format that supports channels and muting a.s.o.? would be cool to have that as it would save a lot of space in comparison to an uncompressed wav

    also, i heard something of a format called like xm or something...(?)
    is there a .mod implementation already?

    sorry for these newb questions... :(
