    Taking that it will play the same games as the PSP,
    including Petapon..etc that have xploits, i think it won't take that long.

    Hmmm....
    Well I think its gonna take awhile.
    I mean, look right now at 6.37 on PSP3ks and GO's.
    Been out for quite a few months now, and we've got nothing on them.
    It took 6.20 about a year to be fully hacked.
    I pretty sure Sony is gonna put quite alot into making sure NGP is not Hacked.
    They are already striking down hard on Hacked PS3 users, Think on what they are gonna try to do with the NGP.

    I can see that being a curse rather than a blessing. If the NGP plays PSP games, then seeing as Sony will be working hard to keep the NGP secure by patching the holes PSPs are vulnerable to, it will make patching firmware for PSPs really easy.

    If they find a hole in the psp firmware that will make the NGP vulnerable, I'm sure once they've patched the NGP they can get a patch for the same vulnerability in the PSP firmware out in a hurry.

    it may take some time, if it ever happens
    Sony learned alot with the psp and ps3

    and
    when the NGP is running PSP game
    it is EMULATING them (software BC), so Sony have control of the NGP's PSP mode

    also there should be
    WhiteListing of ALL know official PSP game/app
    so if you run a game/app not on that list you get an error
    WhiteListing should have many check to stop any unofficial game/app from running

    we can sign are own apps
    but the WhiteListing should stop the unofficial signed games/apps from running

    PSP 1.5 got on USA first day is was 1.5 NOW 4.01 M33-2 -> 5.00 M33-6(1.50 addon),
    Old PS3s: PS3 60GB FW:3.41(2nd ps3 YLoD, 1st, YLoD)
    New PS3:
    Slim 160gb 01-21-2011 Working
    was 3.40 OFW->3.60 OFW

    2nd PSP : PHAT 5.50 GEN-D2
    3rd PSP : Sliver 3000 Starting OFW:4.20 (NEW bought NEW on 11/28/2010)
    It a good idea to have "Hide extensions for known file types" in Folder Options(under Tool) unchecked (turn on extensions)

    Depends on what level of exploit. There's probably some savegame exploits that haven't been patched or reported. Emulating the PSP may still allow a savegame exploit, but it will probably be limited to the emulated console, meaning possible execution of emulated code, rather than native code, may not take that long (assuming that sticking on the exploited savegames isn't terribly difficult).

    If they implement a security system similar to the PS3 about 4.5 years.

    Honestly I hope its a little while. I want one bad but I dont want piracy to plague it in the 1st few months. Id say about 1.5 years would be good. I plan on getting one hopefully on launch. I also hope they make it hard to decide to stay un-hacked with PS3/NGP combination and other cool features. Thats why I have a hacked and un-hacked PS3. I have the best of both worlds.

    I really don't play handheld games online so idc about a ban but I like to play emulators and backups.
