    Exclamation Update to latest OFW or not ?

    Hi,

    I have the FAT model of the ps3 which was originally 40gbs, and installed a 500 GB hard drive.

    Both hard drives are currently on Kmeaw's 3.55 CFW

    and i was thinking, since am not using the 40GB drive. CAN I update that one to the latest firmware ? So i can play online with my original blu ray games ? While, at the same time.. can i re-use the 500 Gb on 3.55 cfw ? Without the ps3 asking me to update it or something ?

    i mean will it be fine ?

    To sum it up, will i basically be able to play pirated games offline and at the same time, original games online as long as i got 2 seperate hard drives??

    PLEASE PLEASE i need to know ! thanks ^_^

    nope the firmware isn't stored on the hard drive

    2 ps3 are needed

    ps3 one
    it you HACK system for offline gaming

    ps3 two
    is you updated system on OFW for online gaming

    the FW IS NOT ON THE HDD(part of it is) the main part of the FW is installed to a CHIP in the PS3

    HDD switching will DO NOTHING

    PSP 1.5 got on USA first day is was 1.5 NOW 4.01 M33-2 -> 5.00 M33-6(1.50 addon),
    Old PS3s: PS3 60GB FW:3.41(2nd ps3 YLoD, 1st, YLoD)
    New PS3:
    Slim 160gb 01-21-2011 Working
    was 3.40 OFW->3.60 OFW

    2nd PSP : PHAT 5.50 GEN-D2
    3rd PSP : Sliver 3000 Starting OFW:4.20 (NEW bought NEW on 11/28/2010)
    It a good idea to have "Hide extensions for known file types" in Folder Options(under Tool) unchecked (turn on extensions)

    Man, I can't believe people STILL think the HDD has anything to do with the Firmware. With all the protection and crap Sony's has and has done, like THAT would even have the remote possibility of working? Wow, still wow...

    Um, you can't believe it?

    I can...we still have TONS of people asking if 3.56-3.61 are hackable? "Can I downgrade my PS3? It has OFW 3.60."
