EXCLUSIVE PNM Project Update: Final Stages
PS3 Hacker, No_One contacted us a few months ago giving us a status update on his PNM project. For those of you who don’t know the PNM project is a way to find firmware 3.6+ (I am assuming this includes 3.7+ as well) public keys, which as you know will lead to new CFW etc…
No_One has exclusively contacted us again today bringing more updates on his latest developments. The project is now in its last stages and it is not able to power on/off the PS3 automatically. No_One also clarifies he will not be releasing the keys, but is giving YOU [or some other clever hacker] to do it (probably doesn’t want legal troubles like Geohot).
To quote:
Hi mates,
I wanted to announce that PNM project has entered its last stage.
PNM is now wired to the motherboard of a SLIM PS3 : DYN-001.
The first results are fine. PNM is correctly powered by the PS3 itself.
Much better, PNM is now capable to power on/off automatically the PS3.
Firmware is choosen using a jumper.
Here is how it will work (very soon) :
- remove the power cable
- place the jumper to choose Firmware #1 or Firmware #2
- connect the power cable
And then the PS3 starts automatically without human interaction.
Let me clarify some points read here and there.
I never promised the 3.6+ public keys !
I just said that PNM will allow to find them nothing else.
This project is a hobby. I work as fast as I can.
Please stop the lame remarks concerning the delay !
I will come back soon with the final video demonstration.
Cheers
No_One

Great news indeed, always nice to see there are people doing work progressing the scene instead of constant arguing.

Way too much wiring... With the time spent soldering and troubleshooting that? You could have filled out 15 job applications, and then GET a job to pay for games...
-
Am I misreading, or will this never lead to CFW WITHOUT this crazy extra hardware business?
-
the extra hardware business is only needed to get the keys, the normal user dousnt have to do this.
-
That is mad impressive.
@PS- I can buy the games, but having cfw is much more than just the games as we know. And for how little I use my PS3 it doesn't justify me getting another one.
