Default modify ps3 slim wifi antenna?

Hello, I have a 320GB ps3 slim and am running 3.55 kmeaw. I live in an apartment complex and am using my neighbors wireless. I want to boost the signal, but obviously can't install a bigger antenna on the modem. Is it possible to mod the ps3 antenna to improve reception? No aluminum foil jokes thanks

Seriously you'd end up doing something with aluminium foil or similar. It's not a joke. A parabolic "mirror" will take the signal from a larger area and concentrate it on a single point. It'll look retarded but if you do it right, it will work.

Do you actuall have to attach the parabolic antenna to the ps3 antenna, or can you just set it behind the ps3?

You could buy something like this :
    http://blackopseaglegang.wordpress.c...-and-xbox-360/
When i wanted to steal wifi for my FTA Receiver i used something like this.

First you connect it to a PC and log into the box (It's kinda like a router but in client mode)
Scan for available Wifi connections and save the settings.
Once the settings are stored you can remove it from the PC and connect it to the ethernet port on the back of your PS3.
You can then tweak the antenna of the little box rather than screwing around with your PS3.

That's a good point. I have something similar to connect wired devices to my network wirelessly. It's just an old Linksys router with DD-WRT.

I have an old dish network satellite dish and a spare Linksys router I can put ddwrt on but never got around to making it a wifi antennae. I did at my last residence use an old strainer and a USB adapter to make a parabolic dish. I sat it outside on my front porch, ran the usb cable to a PC, turned Internet Connection Sharing on, and ran a wireless router inside of my house. It was quick enough for my Internet needs until I got a PS3 and started playing online. I couldnt deal with the lag so I went legit.

I wouldn't do that if I were you. They will lock their wifi after they find out and it will all be over. It took about 3 months after my neighbor found out I was using their wifi until they locked it.

I'm willing to bet a majority of people who have WiFi (particularly if it's from the cable company) have no idea how any of it works whatsoever.
