i'm not sure i understand the complete thread but , you don't need ftp if you are planning on making backups from original games.
you can copy them using an backup manager to or the internal hdd or an usb external (fat32) hdd.

just keep in mind that some games just won't fit on external hdd (fat32 limit) and games that require 3.56 to play need an fix.

You can delete it from your PS3 but you can't play games via FTP so it's for storage only. You can also use FTP to apply game-fixes like modifying eboots but that's another thread.

As far as an external HDD you can use them as long as they're formatted in FAT32 which has a 4GB size limit for a single file which makes some games unplayable via external.

thanks i get it now. i just cant find tutorials for the ftp thing.. but is there updates to this cfw so you can play newer games in time etc.? what if i wanted to go back to ofw?

That's if you downloaded them from the Interwebs like a dirty, dirty pirate.

You use a backup manager to backup your game from the BD to your PS3's HDD. If you wish you can then use FTP to move them over to your computer for storage.



Why in the world would you mean that? Your statement implied that it would be difficult if not impossible to find BD-R/Rws but if you really meant that you simply wouldn't be able to find them at mom & pop shops but you may be able to find them at a "name brand giant" then you didn't really say anything since nearly all shopping in the US is done at "name brand giant" stores. It's like saying "You won't be able to find them where you wouldn't be shopping anyway." That just sounds like back-pedaling after being proven wrong.

Need I point out by the way that you also just did the exact same thing you accused me of? I'm not saying that extending a conversation is wrong, that's actually kind of the point of a conversation in the first place, but you seem to be implying that it's wrong and yet here you are doing it.

You can say what you want, none of us in this thread are even mods so it really wouldn't matter. Besides, you're the only one getting upset so even if we were mods why would we care?

wait which is better to start off with? kmeaw 3.55, or the patched version of it? and which backup manager version is the least invasive? (as in screwing up the look and feel of ps3)
