Using the same method as in the tutorial I flashed the Minimus with psgroove hermes V3 and installed open manager, all you have to different is load the new Hermes V3 hex when using flip and install open manager instead of backup manager, same procedure.

Everything seems to be working using hermes v3 and open manager 1.16

Just as a little side note, the link for the tutorial by minimus is version 1.3, you may want to update it to the new version 1.4
i think i beetter use hermes v3 and open manager... cant seem to locate it on the Download section... could you kindly post the link please..

you help would be much appreciated.

The psgroove hex file with hermes v3 link is here: http://www.ps3-hacks.com/download.php?id=154

The open manager v1.16 is located here: http://www.ps3-hacks.com/download.php?id=147

Also.. for your info, on the ps3-hacks home page, click Downloads at the top, Then PS3 homebrew loaders, then psgroove, and thats where psgroove files are.

For backup managers, they are in homebrew instead of homebrew loaders.

    Hope this helps
    Thanks, Dan

I followed the tutorial and after loading the back up I made I get sent back to the xmb. At this point the backup should appear to be in the drive? The only thing that's showing in the drive is the actual game disk I'm using as per instructions. What am I doing wrong?

Edit: Flashed the wrong hex, works like a dream now.

    Long time lurker.

Just thought I should post where I got the hex file (hermes v3) for my Minimus32 that I just received from modtraders uk:
    http://psx-scene.com/forums/551825-post752.html

LEDs are working (green, red, now blue).

This uses the ATmega32u2 with 32K flash as opposed to 16K on the older Minimus.

I just installed Flex Manager and am backing up a game now...

Last but not least, thanks for the tutorial, Dan!

Thanks for the tut, got my minimus working fine with psgroove but now when I go to install hermes v4, I click load hex file and instead of getting an option to choose a hex file I get a window with 'Flip Exception Stack', any ideas on how to get to choose hex file?

Nevermind, sorted it. Downloaded the latest version of java and it worked :)

Thanks for the tutorial. Used this as a basis for working with my generic ATMEGA32U4 board with the hermesv4b_teensy_v2.0_atmega32u4_16Mhz.hex. Cheers.

    Hi,
Just received minimus AVR, followed the procedure described here, but when trying to open usb communication port on atmel flip it throws an exception "Could not open USB device".
On device manager is recognized as: LibUSB-Win32 Devices--->ATmega32U2.
I've tried different drivers, the one that is provided with atmel flip and also tried the minimus_x64_drivers, but no luck.
    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks in advanced.
