Castlevania: Dracula X Chronicles - BLACK BORDERS!

DA's full screen patch for SotN is nice. But I prefer the correct aspect ratio. The colorful borders are annoying, though...

That's why I created a black bitmap in Sony-format which can be used as alternate background.

Unpack your ISO with WinRAR or UMDGen and replace the file in each of these directories:

PSP_GAME\USRDIR\res\ps\WALLPAPER\16\
PSP_GAME\USRDIR\res\ps\WALLPAPER\32\
PSP_GAME\USRDIR\res\pce\WALLPAPER\16\
PSP_GAME\USRDIR\res\pce\WALLPAPER\32\
PSP_GAME\USRDIR\res\peke\WALLPAPER\16\
PSP_GAME\USRDIR\res\peke\WALLPAPER\32\

Repack your ISO (of your legit purchased UMD) with UMDGen (you can directly compress to CSO).

Now start the new ISO/CSO. Select Background 1 in Options Menu. Enjoy!



P.S. As you see above, Symphony of the Night actually IS widescreen already (though not full width). It's not 4:3, it's close to 3:2-format.

I dont know, I like the pops version of SotN better. It looks.. Complete.

Yes, the POPS version is quite good. But this one is, too - and it has Maria and the japanese extra familiars. And new voice acting (okay, scratch that - I don't like Alucard's and Death's new voices - but Shaft's, Dracula's, Maria's and Richter's are good).

Besides, the black borders are for Rondo (and Peke!!!!!), too.
