With the new PSP firmware and the ability to play ps1 games through the PS3 remote play, how does FF8 play?
I tried playing FF8 using the PSP by itself with CFW's but it seems to keep crashing or having extreme slowdowns. I've still got the original discs and am planning to buy a ps3 soon. Has anyone tried this yet?

Impaler’s PSX EBOOT Creator also helped

I backed them up from my original CD's. I used Magic ISO to convert them to an ISO. If that doesn't give you better results. Try backing them up with the .bin .cue option. Different back ups are out there so you might have some trouble or experience some trouble if they been messed with or altered. Then I used Impaler’s PSX EBOOT Creator to create one hole e-boot which totals up to a whooping 2.06GB file. Transfered that file to the PSP and set my CPU speed to 333, then when the game starts I put on full screen and disc read speed to Fast. Been playing it since with no slow downs, hangs, or freezes. FW I'm running is 3.73 M33-4 on a fatty.:twothumbs:

I ripped my own discs too but I freeze sometimes when I draw/cast spells... I just installed 3.80 m33-2 but I still get the same results. Anyway to fix this? Also, is there anyway to export the save files to a ps3 so I can continue my game there?

I ripped them from the original cds, and it freezes at the end of disc one when you draw Carbuncle(from those 2 stone creatures). I still couldn't get past that part without freezing....
