    Default Samurai Dou Portable (JP)

Samurai Dou Portable (JP) (Way of the Samurai)

    CSO-160 MB

Been playing it for the last half an hour.

Lots of fun. If you enjoyed the PS2 version, you'll love this. If you're having problems understanding the storyline, you can follow the PS2 Way of the Samurai walkthrough.

"The hack and slash action takes place in a state called Gishuamari during the Sengoku period. By slaying the late ruling family, the Sakurai clan, a man named Fujimori became the state's Daimyo.

As a ruler, he keeps an iron fist on the country and the way with which he took the Daimyo's throne made him enemies amongst the peasants and old noble families.

The player is a stray Samurai with the freedom to join any party, e.g. Fujimori's, the old noble houses' or the peasants.

Of course, with the freedom provided in the game, there are more than one route you can develop your story, betray your old employers and go under a new one, remove yourself from corruptive forces and join the battle for justice etc, just remember that the fate of the state rests within your hands"

shouldn't be surprised that oyabun is able to play this. He has the advantage. I'm gonna try this out if this is hack n'slash the game will speak for itself.

I'm sure you'll see an English version released eventually.

Spike released Shinobido Homura here, and this game is far better in every aspect.

You can learn various new moves and techniques throughout the game, sword breaking techniques, evading techniques, new parrying moves, etc.

There's a blacksmith you can visit to increase the durability of your sword, tons of hidden weapons to find, there are multiple characters to unlock that you can use in .vs mode, new outfits, new backgrounds to unlock.

Although the game is fairly playable without knowledge of Japanese, It is an RPG. You won't really know what's going on as far as the storyline, since you have to make specific choices throughout the game. Drawing your sword at specific points in the game could pose a problem.

Answering a specific question could cause an NPC to draw their sword on you. You won't have much control over your "Honorability" ranking, which gives you your legend name, and there are multiple endings, depending on the path you choose.

    well, crap.

    Robs teach us all Japanese.

edit: goddamn. I just tried it, and I had no idea what the hell was going on. I guess I'll wait for an English release. It seemed awesome.

yeh, this one is way too in depth to play past the language barrier.

I managed Phantasy Star just fine, but not this one. D:
