Default What is the difference between cso & iso

I have dumped my games to my mem card and for example I have field commander that I dumped using 3.80m33 cf and it was if I remember correctly 1.68gb and an Iso file format and my brother has that game for his psp as a cso file format and it's only like 800mb. Whats the difference! Is the cso file format more compressed or something. He can fit more stuff on his card because his games are smaller. What gives how is the same game different sizes and how did he get it in cso format. also he asked me what the difference is between a ripped game and a full game aren't they the same thing. I always thought that ripping something was just copying it from the media to your computer but it sounds like there is a difference? I new to all this stuff and just trying to figure it out. I would rather have the smaller file size to fit more stuff on my mem card but I don't see how it can be 1/2 the size does that mean he only has half the game.....I don't see how that would work though. It must be a compression thing right?
