Default Best option for playing FF6?

Just wondering which version is better on PSP overall. I played both to the first save point, and the GBA version gave me general emulator lag alot, the PS1 version gave me slowdowns entering and exiting battle. That might have been because of my game rip, not sure if I did it 100% right...

the PS1 version is good if you set it to the right pops and use a certain Game ID.

I'm using 5.00m33-6 with 5.00 pops. Ripped it with Alcohol120 at the slowest read speed then converted with the latest PSX2PSP with no compression. Anything I should do different so I don't get lag? I beat FF5 through Pops, and that saving bug was annoying. There isn't anything like that in FF6 is there?

Play either the SNES version, or the GBA version.

Do NOT play the PSX version, unless you like it taking more than a second for the menu to pop up after you've pushed the button.

I dont mind the menu, I'm used to it. It's slowdowns and overall lag I'm try to lessen/avoid.

The only slowdowns I've noticed in the SNES version is when Terra casts the bio attack in the Magitek armor, in the beginning of the game.

And I haven't really noticed any slowdowns in the GBA version.

Which gba emulator are using, and is the rom zipped or not? I get all kinds of graphic and slowdowns with the latest gbsp-mod and a zipped rom.

for starters, try unzipping the ROM.

and I'm using some version of gpsp_mod but I have no idea which.

I got halfway through the game playing the GBA version with no hiccups or anything. Only problem is, if you use save states the music and the gameplay is off by a little bit and it could get annoying

other than that, it's pretty good using the GBA emulator

I can't for the life of me get it to work without lag on the GBA version. Latest version of gpSP-mod, whether zipped or not, acts the same. I messed with the settings for about an hour last night, and I couldn't get it to work smoothly without skipping so many frames that it causes a ton of graphical glitching.

So what I'm saying is I give up on the GBA version lol.

So any recommendations on what to do for the PS1 version? The immediate thing I tried was setting the disc load speed to fast, but that didn't eliminate the slowdown. The only slow down it has is entering and leaving battle the music kinda hangs on itself. I can only assume that that's due to my rip, or the fact that I made it uncompressed when converting in PSX2PSP.
