my 1st psp was free of dead pixels......but it had defective speakers (they popped all the time...it was unbearable with headphones) so i sent it back to sony and they agreed to exchange for a "new" psp. 2 weeks later i get my exchanged unit, only to find my "new" psp is actually used and refurbished. It had scratches on the screen, a defective d-pad that stuck to the left....and a shitload of dead piexls. So for obvious reasons i was pissed, i called them again and bitched about how they told me i was getting a "new" psp, then we debated the definition of the word new for about five minuets. She explaind that sonys p.e.c. (exchange center) works like this
you send them a broken or defective unit
they take someone elses returned psp and send it to you...hoping you wont wanna send it back again...:) well those werent her words but thats essentially what they do. so i exchanged that one after alot of complaints ( 2 follow up calls to voice my complaint again, emails, ect.) and they sent me a REAL new one.
but unfortunetly it has like 7 dead pixels....but i could careless at this point
so the moral of the story is, when a company trys to rip you off after spending almost 300 for defective stuff...never stop complaining (to them) until you get what you deserved in the first place

supossedly there is a chance that they can randomly reignite but I think thats technical bs
It works, but only on stuck pixels. If a pixel is dead then it's dead.

My US PSP had 3 stuck pixels and I was able to fix one of them. It took a LONG TIME though.

My JAP PSP has no pixel issues.

My PSP is special, no defects. I feel all warm and happy inside. However, I wonder why there is so many dead pixels? Low grade, mass production screens?

I know. I was hoping this wouldn't be a issue by the time it hit North American shores, but my PSP is luckily fine. Too bad we have to count on chance more than Sony.
