    I mean, wouldnt the whole open source thing make the PSP that much more amazing that more people would buy it?

    They'd make a lot more money if it was out in the open that you could do that.

    I mean, people buy 2 PSP's for the sole purpose of homebrew, I'm sure it can entice more people to buy them too.


    ...unless theres a big reason why open source would be terrible.

    but if i were sony, id just be.. oh shit.. these guys just gave us another feature to add onto our box.. little kiddies love emulators, man we just hit gold.

    then ppl wont buy games! they'll pay $60 for a 1gb stick and download games

    i second that, people will be loading up those UMD .iso games all day on their memory stick...

    I would say, the best way for Sony to get rid of all this homebrew software is to take out the memory stick/slot features... you can still play umd games, browse the net, watch umd dvds, upgrade firmware but the Videos and Music features have to be sacrifices... even if a modchip is out, without a UMD burner, it would still be really hard to run homebrew games/app...

    lol, but truthly without the memory stick features, what's the point of getting a PSP anyways, that was my main reason is watch Videos and listening to mp3's...

    MAKE emulators and roms a big company like that would get sued in a heart beat PLUS noone would buy their game whn you can buy 1gb stick for $80 and neva get ne thing else
