    Hi All,

Just about to buy a psp of ebay. Seller doesn't know what firmware is on it but is pretty sure it is 1002K. Is there anyway he can determine what the model number is without opening the package? I have done some reading however I am not convinced that the rules stated by other people would apply to this PSP as it's the AUSTRALIAN version and was gathered through a strathfield promo by signing up to a mobile plan, which leads me to believe it will be 2.01 or above. It would have to be 2.00 or below for obvious reasons.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks Guys

    Christian

I bought 2 Oz psps about 6 weeks ago. They have 1002k on the box and they were 1.52.
I don't think that number necessarily refers to the firmware though.
Hopefully yours will be 2.0 or less.

I think the number has more to do with the selling area then the firmware. Mine is a 1004k bought in Barcelona, Spain and had version 1.51 on it and came with the demo UMD disk.
I think your best bet is to buy from a place that doesn't sell many PSPs and that way you know you will get an old one. I bought mine from a small grocery store and had to tell the girl three times what I wanted. After which, I ended up showing her the sign for the PSPs that they were selling.

I have not seen any Australian PSPs, but have him look at the barcode on the end of the box.... one part of the tag will list "120 (X)". Read as the following:

    120 or 120A - FW 1.50
    120B - FW 1.51

Figure anything after "B" would probably be 1.51 or higher.

    Hope that can help you.
