Doesn't the PSP use Lithium ion battery? Most new gadgets use LiIon, but when I checked mine, there's no indication on the battery's label.

If it's a LiIon battery, there's no danger of overcharging for the battery stops charging and goes into tricle charge when it's full/nearly full. Unlike older batteries like NiCd and NiMH that have a memory effect, It's actually more damaging for LiIon batteries when you drain them up often, and more adviseable to charge the battery frequently.

yeah unless you somehow put a lithium battery on a regular Nimh battery then you will fry it, Lithium chargers or programmmed to charge the battery more slowly as it gains charge, plus its ideal if you wont go past 60% when using, that might just be for reg Li-ion batterys though, im into xmods modding and they say thats better for your batterys.

today u cant overcharge a battery... the psp reads the battery level and only charges it if its voltage is lessthen a specific value... thats y the light is either on or off...
