    People.
I am interested in buying a Location free base for my PSP.
The uk price is a mind blowing £350 Approx $600 us. That sucks.
The same product in the US is $350 and less then $200 on ebay. To us Brits buying in the US makes it very cheap...
The main question is has Sony made the US Base station NTSC only just to piss every one off as only sony can do.
It seems there are various differant tech specs on the net, some say NTSC and some have PAL, SECAM, NTSC etc.

Any ideas? Any body bought one?

    Cheers Guys

from what i can remember the NTSC wont work witth our UK systems, such as sky and ntl, as the format PAL isn;t support by the location free base station, you could however try and pick one up from ebay in austrialla (spelling?) as they use PAL, and therefor should work without too much of a problem thats if they have even released the base station in oz yet...

so do you think they have tied the US one down to NTSC?
It would seem stupid to do that as most systems these days (i.e TV's) can except all types of transmissions. The extra cost of manufacturing 2 differant types of base would also be stupid but I guess this is Sony for you
