Is it like the iPod where it will only last for a few years? If I buy a used 1.5 PSP, how long should I expect this thing to last? What are some ways to maximize the length of the battery life?

My psp battery life has lasted a long time. It can last up to a week for me and play it every day. So it lasts a long time in my opinion. But not like constent like play a few hours a day or in between the day. And it has lasted me that long before dieing on me.

plus, if i does end up dying, it's not actually like the ipod battery where you gotta crack the sucker open to replace it (which i've done)...just plop that shit in there

...still waiting for street sk8er to work for psx......

The PSP does not have a built in battery. If the battery dies, just pop the cover off on the back and replace it.

Playing UMDs drains more power out of the PSP than playing something off of the memory stick, I also heard setting the PSP's processing power lower saves more power for playing games from the memory stick too.

Edit/Added: Oops, misread what the original poster said, I was writing about battery life. My bad :bucktooth:

No, no, no. As long as you treat it right, your PSP is good for a long time. Your battery on the other hand......
