I've just been to the mugen site, and found complete sprite rips from SF3 third strike -- down to backgrounds, fireballs, effects. Everything. Using this, would it be possible to hash together a port for PSP? I've seen somoene try a starcraft port using this method (sprite rips), so why not SF3. Just tossing around the idea -- realistically. Nothing like the posters who suggested a halo port :sigh: . Sf3's the best fighter ever, and having it for psp would be awesome.

Naw, I'm suggesting the idea of taking the sprite rips and programming in the damage calculation and the order in which the sprite animations are played, with physics and hitboxes, etc. Something just like this was done with x-men vs street fighter, only in flash (projectx.cyberfuturism.com) -- 4 years ago. Besides, we all know third strike is 100 times better than alpha 3... and coding it from the ground up on a psp could possibly make it pretty fast, and maybe with ad-hoc. Beats of rage uses sprite rips, so doing this could be possible.

Pretty sure SF3 is possible. Pretty sure Capcom itself will do it until the end of 2007.

Capcom isn't the type of company to take risks like that. SF3 was released in arcades around '99, when everyone would rather have played on their home systems. Because of that, it tanked; and now there really isn't much chance of capcom porting it to more systems, let alone making a street fighter 4 :(

Imo the is a very big chance of capcom bringing sf3 to the psp, street fighter alpha 3 is old too and they ported that.

    Capcom will/are making a street fighter 4.
