What is it that determines how big a CSO gets when compressing?

I compressed Grip Shift and it went from 800 to 80 MB! What's up with that? Some games just gets like a couple of mbs smaller.

it's not surprizing really.. cos gripshift is mostly dummy files which just take up space(but are of no use)... also the things dat affect compression are mostly the vids and auds.. which are not too compressible...

depends on the game and game contents though.. some games get compressed really low but some games only get compressed like 100 mb only even with lvl 9 compression.. yeah..so..it depends on the games

Cheers fellas. So why dummy files? To hope for less piracy?

cso is a good tool but when you play games like GTA is better play without compression because compression makes the game slower (at least GTA) like skippin frames

the dummy files load things quiker when reading from the umd, hence they can be ripped out when converting to cso as it doesn't need the extra padding
