Just a stray thought here, but using the web browser, is the PSP completely safe from viruses? I know, someone would have to target code specifically for it, and since not that many people use it as a primary browser, who's gonna spend the time doing it. Assuming for a second that someone wanted to, could a script be written to brick a PSP? This would require flashing it or using a tiff exploit, but how hard would it really be?

No, I'm not trying to make one, just wanna keep my PSP safe.

probably possible yea, a wi-fi virus would be cooler though. I mean, it's alot easier to get infected by some dumbass sitting next to ya than by browsing into the wrong site.

however, I doubt that anyone cares enough to do it. I mean, why do you think mac's are safer vs virus attacks? cause noone gives a crap about mac... that's why.

Meh, if you're using DevHook you should be safe. Also, just disable Flash and anything unnecessary.
I highly doubt you'd get a virus by browsing the web - mainly because most of them come from ActiveX controls (which I don't think the PSP supports).

    Sigh!

    Bluetooth virus - mobile phones.

More windows users than Mac users. i.e. smarter to target the larger audience, in hindsight this also tells you that Macs arn't so great after all becuase nobody uses them. Gentoo ftw!

As for the chances of getting a virus from simple web browsing, I'd say nil. No one is going to run a website with say JS code designed to kill a PSP. It's a waste of time, besides most people stick to sites they know. Really though what's going to happen? memory stick corruption? the web browser doesn't have Flash0 access a simple website and your back to square 1. Trojan? good luck creating a trojan that boots on launch with a PSP.

The other mentioned "Trojans" arn't actually trojans. They are just designed to fuck with Flash0 hence killing your PSP.
