Has anybody bought one recently from a store not online?
If so when did you buy it (date) and where?

I bought a 1.51 about a month and a half ago at a K-Mart in CT. They had a couple of 1.52's and a bunch of 2.60's. Anything is possible if you try hard enough.

Yeah thats pretty much what I did. Theres a Walmart right down the road from the Kmart, so only the poorest of the poor go there. The place has always sucked, I figure that would be the best place to find an item with 2 years of dust on it. All I can say is an hour long drive there and back would be worth it to not have a TA-082 motherboard. Running emulators is the reason why I bought a psp. Being able to run ISOs is just a bonus.

my friend had to swap his white psp due to faulty buttons or something.
he went to the store a few days ago and swapped it for a black 1.5 psp (1002 model)

    - this is in Australia btw, i doubt if we even have the newer models (ta-086 or whatever)

Is there any way at all to tell whether its TA-082 or not before buying?

I'm definitely gonna do the drive tomorrow, I have to go that way anyways so i'm gonna hit up both of the poor k-marts while i'm out. I already have one 1.5, but I would like to have a second cause I sold my other back-up 1.5 awhile ago..
