i have read many articles on many differant forums that folks say Sony can unbrick psp's sent back to them, now i have this question, do they have specialist equipment or something, and if so what exactly is it, does anyone know..or are they simply replacing the boards in the ones sent back, i cant really see them replacing the boards myself..it seems odd if they can revive a flashable chip that someone hasnt figured out how they are doing it..
Can anyone throw any light on this subject, perhaps someone who is techie minded maybe...

    thanks,

    frank....

Im pretty sure it would have been leaked if they had the epecial stuff. They probably just send you a new one.

They have to write to the flash to put the firmware on in the first place, right? They probably have a way to re-flash the chip.

Now all we need is a corrupt Sony employee to tell us how... Maybe we could send a psp back with some bribe money in there..

i think they have a way of writing to the flash, i know gigabyte re-flashed a m/board from a friends pc once that had been shot, and it was the same boad (that came back), not a replacment either..i think it can be done, just really curious how and what equipment they use..
