    The latest is the 2.71/2.8 Hybrid firmware. Search for it.

    You can emulate up to 2.71 w/ a stock version of DH .46. 2.71/2.8 Hybrid is beginning to happen, but its nowhere near do-able by a n00b. I know I certainly wouldn't try it until there's an installer, remember, this is how CZ just bricked his PSP.
    TA-079 PSP-1001, SanDisk 2gb, 256mb cards FW: 2.0->clean 1.5->3.03OE-C->3.52M33->3.52M33-4

    CZ didn't brick his psp by doing it without knowing what he was doing. He didn't brick it by trying to put the 2.8 hybrid on the normal way. He was trying something different with 2.71 SE. (correct me if I'm wrong cz)

    Hybrid is definitely do-able by anyone who can follow directions.

    And there is an installer last time I checked.

    The 2.71/2.80 SE-B is 100% possible.

    I had the 2.80 files running from the memory stick, and loading 2.80 games like Yu-Gi-Oh!

    When I moved the files into flash is where I screwed up. One of the PSP's PRX files was overwritten for sure.. But now I'm having other thoughts that the PSP's flash may have been filled up.

    If you know what your are doing and follow instructions, the Hybrid is functional.
    The only reason it bricked is the broken Checksum code that Sony implemented.

    //Edit: I should also point out that the same method I was experimenting with is the same method later released on the MaxColsole forums.

    I am confident that once I get my PSP running again, I can get a coder to make the flasher and have a 2.80 Hybrid firmware, if someone doesn't beat me to it.

    Where do people come up with these ideas for new homebrew ideas on later firmwares? Do people just sit at their computer and experiment with different things until it works? The reason why i am asking is because when i first got my psp 1 year ago, people just made a loader for 2.6 from there it took a little while but they found a downgrader for 2.6 and sooner after found a downgrader for 2.71. Now they have some homebrew on 2.8 It seems like it is getting easier to figure it out or there are more people working on it.

    it gets harder..and the wait gets longer..

    but patience is a virtue.

    just wondering if the devs will postpone/stop work on 2.8x and get straight into 3.0

    hopefully he makes a downgrader for 2.81 because it looks like Sony's almost getting one step ahead of all us with these new firmwares the dev's need to work faster so they can get on 3.0 but i doubt anyone who goes on this site would go to 3.0
