Thing's fine, thank God, but there was a pretty deep, long scratch on the center of the screen (the LCD itself is totally fine, however). I removed it using Ice Creme for the iPod, but now there are some hugely annoying buff marks over about half of the screen.

Is it possible to get a new face for the system, and if so, do you recommend I install it myself or have somebody do it? Or would it be better to just live with these horrid little buff marks? What's your experience?

P.S. I got a PGP, but I wasn't using it at the time because I suck.

Dents I wouldn't care about If their not on the screen I think you'll do fine replacing it your self I mean there's even tutorials on how to take your PSP apart and put back together.

I got a blue faceplate on mine. It's really easy to install too. Most mods sites sell them.

Easy to install by what standards? I've never done ANY modding ever. I wouldn't install an UP if my life depended on it.

That said, let's say I get one. Can I get an "official" faceplate, or would it be more beneficial to get something else, maybe something with a more durable screen facing? My problem with the official one is that it scratches too easily. That and the buttons move around too much in their holes, but that's not a big deal.

P.S. Unrelated note, but remember when Nintendo sold screen replacement kits, and it was like this glue stick that you pried the thing up with? That was AWESOME. I wish every handheld thing out there had that option.

Anybody have any specific recommendations before I search for faceplates on some random site and make a purchase? Are any faceplates more desireable than official ones (can you even buy those)? Are there any button mods I should do while I'm at it? Is it possible for somebody to ask so many consecutive questions?
