Hard to imagine, but it's been over two years since Sony unleashed the PSP (at least in Japan), so it stands to reason that we're due for a little upgrade, right? Well, it's difficult to tell precisely what's going on due to the machine translation, but Samsung introduced its new N-Series line of 1.8-inch hard drives today and there's some indication that a 60GB version of the drive may end up in a future PSP. With any luck we may see a proper announcement at CES next month -- we definitely would not kick a 60GB PSP out of bed -- but for right now we're just trying to figure out exactly what Samsung announced today.

Interesting though I do have a few issues:
    1) How fast is the HDD? Would ISOs, for example, lag?
    2) Of course, still has the HDD vs Flash issues
    3) Why would Sony want to incorporate such large amounts of storage for the PSP2 - maybe it wants to extend the PS1 downloading service or something?

    Discuss.

more HDD space. mayb to drop the UMD as a storage and use the PS store to sell games?

    or more DRM control.

Clearly they are going to try to compete with iPod / Zune.

Good for them though. And yea for us when the dev's hack teh shiz-ohla out of it.

Hopefully $0ny learned thier lesson and will have a larger NANDFlash this time. maybe something like 1gig. that would rock.

If they make a 60GB HDD there would be a few pros and cons

    PRO
    1) More PSX space. Instant WIN
    2)Homebrew Space.
    3)ISO SPACE INSTANT WIN!!!!
    4)Media SPace!
    5) WTF SO MUCH FUCKING SPACE!!!!

    CONS
1)Flash mayb un accesible, unless our faithful PSP programers responds with lighning fast movements

Really that one con brings down the whole system.
