i reckon sony should implement their own sort of recovery in future updates

then, people who are upgrading to the latest firmware, because they are not interested in homebrew, and accidentally brick, don't have to send their PSP back to sony, and potentially have to spend money to get it fixed; they just have to run the update again.

i reckon it would save lots of people lots of money

    what are your thoughts?

Sony wouldn't do it, cuz they're more interested in peoples $$ than they are saving them having to send it out.

    ^^What Iceman said.

Like quite a few MP3 players have recovery modes, but the PSP doesn't (well without custom firmware).

that means less money for sony, they wouldn't want that... the only thing they're allowing hacking of their system is bec. if you brick, u'll buy a new one

hmmmmmm good point, i guess i shouldve thought of all that before i thought that sony should have a recovery...

sony sort of remind me of this really big money-hungry asshole-company that made all sorts of entertainment hardware that always fucked you over...

If they stick some sort of recovery, I can almost gaurantee you it will be hacked to pieces and some sort of exploit will be found from that.

    lol

Anyway, Sony would probably expect people who bricked whilst upgrading to send the psp to them so they can stick the latest FW on it.

since i got custom firmwire, i don't really care but i think sony is to busy making security upgrades while everyone that upgrades doesn't want to downgrade anyway and they are basicly making the security updates for the wrong (loyal) mainstream people

Sony doesnt get much profit from the PSP as it is, no to mention all the ISOs out there putting down their game sales
