So, I know many of you out there need to downgrade and the process requires an unpatched version of GTA.

I also know many of you if not all, do NOT want to be paying 60+ dollars for a game you are only going to insert just one time into your PSP.

For those of you who have gone to rental stores like Blockbuster and the sort, how has your luck been? Have you rented the unpatched version on your first try? Or did you have to rent it multiple times?

Another interesting question is, is it possible to ask the clerk if you can check the GTA umds before renting it? (It would be a lot of trouble but customers are first right?)

I know one of they guys at my blockbuster, he would let me check the UMD if I needed to.

And the GTA copies at Blockbuster are unpatched where I am.

Seems like you guys have a buddy working at Blockbuster, therefore you get the privilege of checking them first. But, by logic I'd assume all the rental copies should mostly be the unpatched version. After all Blockbuster does want to make money, and ordering the new patched GTA for ALL Blockbuster chains would add up to quite an amount.

    they don't care about that.

The fact it, Blockbuster buys the games when they are released!
GTA wasn't patched at the release time.

Hmm, I wonder if other places like Hollywood Videos would have unpatched GTA's. I pretty much wouldn't try my chances with buying a new copy unless that particular game store is completely unknown.

I went in to Blockbuster today and bought a pre-owned GTA LCS for £14.99 and it was the V2.00 one . If it wasn't i,d just take it back say it doesn't work and get another as they had 6 pre-owned .
