I still see threads barking about the TA-82 and 86 motherboards. They're all downgradable now supposing you have the right firmware. What is the big deal? Are there any hinderance compared to the non 82 and 86 mobos?

Well, it's important that people indicate which motherboard we have, that way we can link them to the right downgrader. I'm sure there have been lots of noobs that would have bricked their PSP's if they didn't use the right downgrader.

The only hindrance with TA-082 and TA-086 mother boards now, is that they can not be chipped.

Can't be chipped eh. Forgive me for asking but what would you need to modchip your PSP for? I'm guessing for bricked PSPs since a successfully downgraded one can do just about anything except wash your clothes.

yeah, the only reason why you'll need a mod chip now is if you hard brick (different from semi brick)
    or if you have a 3.10 or 3.11 w/o the TA-082 or TA-086 motherboard.

I wish my 3.10 OE-A' PSP could wash my clothes.

Hmmm.. The latest 3.03 downgrader automatically detected what board the PSP had, so it really doesn't matter much. Though having an original mo/bo is probably best.

My TA-086 works just as good as my original board. Although I would rather have an original.

I think the downgrader patches the board in some way to were it no longer acts like a 082/086 board.

What was the big deal about TA-082 in the first place? What did it do differently?

I don\'t give a crap about your firmware history
