So I just got a 2.71 PSP, but I have a problem. I wanna downgrade it to 1.5 of course, but I am not sure if it is TA-082, TA-086 or the normal type. How do I check?

Check the umd drive, you'll see an IC1003 written in on the top of the drive (inside the psp)
and you got a lot of posts here so you should already know this.

If you dg a ta-082 clean the keys.

Can I install OE firmwares on TA-082/TA-086 once downgraded. I've been away for about 4 months from the PSP scene and just got a new PSP, finally.

Yes you can, I have done about 3 so far and I believe it says so in the readme also.

    OK thanks :mrgreenthumbsup:

Anything special I have to do when downgrading a TA-082 2.71 FW PSP? Are there any TA-086 2.71 PSP's?

Not sure about the TA-086 but I'm sure it's likely to be TA-082 if you have that mobo..Just be sure you're using the right downgrader and follow instructions carefully.

If you have an TA-082 MoBo you have to update to 2.80 an then downgrade to 1.50. The 2.80 downgrader patches your MoBo so that it actually can be downgraded.
