Today I was trying to replace my umd laser, and now my psp doesn't even turn on. I don't even see the green Power light. I'm not sure why it is doing this.
So I'm thinking about doing this: buy a new psp, then put the broken psp in new psp's box, return the bad psp, and keep the new psp.
But what store in the US is it best to do this at?
And what firmware do most psps have now? Do they still have the stickers on the box with a letter which represents a firmware?

Yes they still have the letter
But you removed the warranty sticker... Did you keep it? When they see that the warranty is void they might give the broken one back to you without a new one...
    So be careful..

I don't have the warranty sticker. The battery and battery cover will be covering it up anyways.
What firmware am I likely to get?
What store should I go to?
