Sony's Jack Tretton has praised the homebrew PSP scene by commenting that some of the stuff produced via the scene is incredibly creative and admitted Sony would like to 'tap' into the are a bit more.

"I think that is something that is in the works," he said. "We certainly see some of the stuff that has been done via homebrew, and it's incredibly creative. And I think we'd like to try and tap into that a little bit more."

Dave added to Jack's comments by saying that moving to forward with homebrew software has one main hurdle to cross -- figuring out how to support the new content without putting the PSP at risk.
It's about time the scene gets some dap. And from one of the head cheeses in Sony :o

Anyone call BS or is this good?

i think its them just realizing that the coders online have come up with shit that people want more then almost any of the features they have given us... asdie from the pops emulator i can think of one major feature i like about standard psp firmware

Even if they do start to open their firmware up a little for homebrew, there will undoubtedly be limitations. I bought my psp, I'll do what I want with it, without limitations. CFW ftw!

i think they are going to select a few applications and games that people are very fond of an optimize them with professional coding. then sign the EBOOT and stick it on their site with proper credits to the original coder.
