This tutorial guide thing should tell you a quick way to make a “track list”. It isn’t really a track list but more like songs with numbers before the title. This is just a quick way to do it.

Firstly to do this you will need to have a program called ExplorerXP. This is a useful piece of software that is just like windows explorer but better. For this we will be using it to batch rename files quickly.

You can download it here http://www.explorerxp.com/index.html#download.
Just scroll down to the bottom of the page and click the download link.

Once downloaded just install and follow all the steps, pressing “I agree”, “next” blah blah blah.

    Step 1:
Go to the files that you want in your “track list” and put all of them in one folder called whatever you want. “PSP Track list” or something. (Or you could go to your ms0:PSP/MUSIC folder on your psp and make a folder there so you can save hassle of copying all the songs to your PSP)

    Step 2:
Open up ExplorerXp and locate the folder where you put the songs for the track list. Click once on the first song and it should highlight blue. Then scroll down to the last song and hold SHIFT on the keyboard when you click on it. All the songs should be highlighted. (Or you could just click on the first song and then press CTRL+A).

    Step 3:
On your keyboard press the F2 button and this will open the mass rename window and you should see all of the songs in order to alphabet or something. In the top left hand corner click on RE-NUMBER. A number staring from 001 should appear on each of your tracks now. If there are any tracks that are in the wrong order then all you have to do is highlight the track and press the MOVE UP or MOVE DOWN buttons on the right hand side. If there are any songs that you don’t want then just highlight them and press remove.

I usually use it for organising the pictures on my PSP aswell like manga.

I'm pretty sure you can do the same thing with PSP Content Manager, but make sure to get the Music and Picture version...it also let's you re-order games and sort Corrupted icons to the bottom of the list if you're on OE (even with the hide option enabled, there are a couple that sneak through)...

It's as fool-proof as an application can be...your way isn't overly complicated, but I'm pretty sure a chimp could use PSPContentManager...

Yeah, but when you do this, it makes it so that it says lyk "001 The Rolling Stones" which looks annoying to me lol

PSP Content Manager doesn't rename the files...I used the Windows built-in batch renaming for a while, but the name changes annoyed me.

Content Manager doesn't change the filename at all, just sorts them however you want...

-Yeah but this can be for people who are too scared to downgrade their PSP.

That's just not even a life worth living...

    Good point though...

I wonder if Content Manager would work on an Official firmware PSP, since it runs on the PC and just reads the MS content over USB...I don't have one to test, but I doubt it...even if it did, you could only use it for videos, music, and photos...

If anyone out there living half a life with an unmodded PSP wants to test it, please post results...

    ;)

PSP CM works with all firmwares.

What version allows you to reorder your music without adding 000x at the beginning of each song name? (x = number)

It was a good idea and it works, I wasn't trying to be a dick about it or anything. It was good of you to provide a solution...unfortunately, most of the time you get shit on for it because someone has a "better" solution...

I was doing basically the same thing you described to reorder stuff, but then found out about CM and preferred it. I just wanted to propose an alternative solution and maybe help you out if you hadn't heard of Content Manager...

    No hard feelings :mrgreenthumbsup:
