Yes the battery allows the PSP to be booted in Service mode, then the 1.50 firmware on the magic memory stick will install on to the PSP. Then from 1.50 you can install custom firmware, 3.40oe or 3.52M33.

No, you can make a battery and convert back to normal like this.

    1) Convert your battery into a jigkick one using "Pandora's Battery Creator", but before you press X, press TRIANGLE to backup your battery's EEPROM to ms0:/eeprom.bin
    2) Unbrick your PSP as normal
    3) When you are done unbricking, take out the battery and the magic memory stick. Start up the PSP using the AC adaptor (do not try to use a USB charger, it will not start up)
    4) Insert the magic memory stick and the magic battery
    5) Run "Pandora's Battery Creator" again
    6) Press L+R to restore the ms0:/eeprom.bin to your battery - you may get an "0x14 write error" when doing this, it doesn't seem to be a problem.

It is the same method for both mate. If there is no downgrader for your firmware (over 3.50) then you have to downgrade as if your were unbricking.

Pandoras battery doesnt know the difference between a bricked and non-bricked PSP.
It just does it's job and gets outta there!

Think, you bricked while upgrading, there's a bunch of files in flash0
You didn't brick, there is still a bunch of files in flash0

Pandora will go ahead regardless of your PSP being bricked or not. The result
will be the same. A 1.50 subset PSP, until a normal battery is used to boot the PSP.
Then it will be running full fledged 1.50 from the nand, happy days . . .

I don\'t give a crap about your firmware history
