When they made pandora's batery it says that they learned to sign the code, and make it legit Dark_ALex was with them. Maybe thats how they dumped the 3.60 firmware. They got the psar dumper signed it just like a demo and booted it up and dumped it. But i think it is all encrypted. Or maybe they used an exploit in a umd that they found.

    What do you guys think?

they desoldered the nand flash from the mainboard and interfaced it with some thousand dollar machine that dumps nandflashes.

the normal person probably wouldn't understand if they tried to explain it to us anyways.

rofl. I'd go with software/hardware via special, but not necessarily expensive equipment.

This can't be it. Mathieulh said it was actually easy. This method would not be easy and its impractical. Direct quote from Math in a maxconsole forum "I hope that hacking groups will realise how we did it ( it wasn't that hard ) and will release their own software or hacks for the psp slim."

So it is not a hardware device. Probably just a modified pandora battery.

It was done through software. He gives several hints about it. Including saying that other groups might release a dumper for it.

I believe they used the simpleipl and a 3.50 core on the pandora stick and used the illuminati exploit to dump the firmware.

This seems the easiest and quickest way to accomplish this.

Yes he did give several hints about it. Software would be the quickest way. Erland although you do have an interesting theory we are all still playing the guessing game. It would be a cool concept if Sony didn't fully fix the Lumines exploit. Hell they messed up multiple times with GTA LCS.

Yes very nice concept. I think that is the most practical way of doing it. If thats true we could use pandora's battery and the magic stick to run homebrew and flash the new m33. By looking at the pic of the dumped flash it looks like there are a few more files in there, so if we tried to flash 1.50 or something it might not reconize it because sony might have implemented some kind of new security feature that reconize's previous firmware's or custom firmware.

They are running their own custom firmware from the pandora stick to do what they want to with the slim...

watch....just wait until 3.60-M33 hits in a few days...it's gonna require pandora to downgrade it..
