So I remember having a hard time playing games like Street Fighter Alpha 3 and Guilty Gear XX #Reload on my PSP because it was a bit more difficult to pull off quartercircle movements on the directional pad. Is the PSP Slim's directional pad any better?

    actually if you read
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PlayStation_Portable_Slim

    it says
    - Slightly lifted d-pad[5] and buttons for improved responsiveness, confirmed in the GameSpot "hands-on" review: "several GameSpot editors have noticed that the d-pad and buttons on the new PSP provide a little more tactile feedback for a better overall feel."[6]

so maybe you can rest easy on that XD

You can allways "fix" the old d-pad yourself with a simple piece of plastic or cardboard like I did with mine.
    Search for d-pad modification tutorial.

The slim's d-pad feels much more intuative...add the fact that you can play emulators on your tv and you've got a tremendous new system!
