    yea... unless u know how 2 code... chances are, there wont be any avi player, because u need codec to play it.. as well as decoding the video/audio in realtime. i dont think psp dont have that kind of power. or its extremely difficautl2 do
    PSP phatty: 1.5---->2.71---->3.03oe-c---->semi brick---->3.51 m33----> 3.52 m33---> $140
    PSP slim: 3.60----------------------------------------------->3.71 m33----> 3.71 m33-2

    Their was a decent one a while back that played mutiple extentions including mpeg and avi it was a little unstable and crashed a lot.... i've not heard of anyone putting any work into creating a new one, i can't see why it's not possible to to create a div x player? just needs a psp genius to create one

    I know you said not to even mention converting to mp4 but that is the best way to do it. Get xvid4psp and start a batch process before you go to sleep. When you wake up you are sure to have some vids available. That is what I do so I don't check the slowly moving progress bar every 10 minutes.

    If converting to MP4 takes too long, go ahead and try remuxing into the PMP container.

    Remuxing only takes a few minutes at most - the video/audio is not re-encoded.
    Then use PMPlayer AdVanCe to play back the video.

    Chances are, unless the video is of quite a low resolution, it'll play back with quite a bit of lag. DivX/XviD decoding on a 333MHz processor isn't that great...

    (FYI: I tried with a 640x480 DivX video once - lagged so much that I'm saying it ain't worth it. Although that was with an older version of PMP-Mod, and the newer PMPlayer AdVanCe has hardware accelerated MP3 decoding, I doubt the extra speed will make it watchable)
