So I was browsing another PSP forum when I came across this thread of a dude formating his Flash1 with a four button combo. So I tried it and it worked!

Just completely power off your PSP.

Hold the buttons SQUARE, TRIANGLE, SELECT, and START then power on. You should get a blank sreen. Kinda looks like you bricked. Keep the buttons held for few more seconds then let go.

You PSP will format its Flash1 and reset the settings.

No plugins or anything are needed. I think it even works on OFW. Probably one of those hidden fetures Sony threw in (or in the manual but no one reads that).

thanks for the info I actually didn't even know it can be done like that. You learn something new everyday. Could be in the manual if I ever did read it.

I'm guessin it does work on OFW. Usually DAX wouldn't put something in without telling us.

Doesn't work. It boots and then reboots into that bricked look. (3.90 M33-2 Slim) When I rebooted, it just booted normally. No flash1 change.

EDIT: Rebooted into TM 1.50, and it does work. Weird?

Try holding the buttons for a little longer. It should pause at a blank screen then you should get the select time menu.
