and its still in version 2.60

what are my options for downgrading and using homebrew? i heard about the gta fix but i'm also reading up about upgrading to 2.71 then downgrading from there. i'm totally new to this and i was very close to selling my psp at one point. if i can get this thing hacked (even just to emulate snes, genesis, and psx games) it would be great

    thanks guys

This one should work for you ..... requires 2.80 fw http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/1011
I used the 2.71 downgrader when it was released and it worked fine but it might not be as stable as the 2.80 downgrader

I'd suggest doing the 2.80 downgrade like jibbz said.

Calo-hacks is good place to start
    http://www.calo-hacks.com/2.80downgrader.html

basically what you're gonna do is upgrade to 2.80, then downgrade to 1.50, then upgrade to a custom firmware of your choice. Personally, I use version 3.52 M33 Update 4. The latest is 3.90 M33 (Update ?). Its a pretty easy procedure if you can read and are ok with computers n junk.

If you want to know how to do something, chances are there's a decent tutorial out there (on psp-hacks). Search first.
