    What actually is a MAC Address.
    I tried Wikipedia but don't know what the hell they're on about.

    it is the HARDWARE ID of the wifi card

    PSP 1.5 got on USA first day is was 1.5 NOW 4.01 M33-2 -> 5.00 M33-6(1.50 addon),
    Old PS3s: PS3 60GB FW:3.41(2nd ps3 YLoD, 1st, YLoD)
    New PS3:
    Slim 160gb 01-21-2011 Working
    was 3.40 OFW->3.60 OFW

    2nd PSP : PHAT 5.50 GEN-D2
    3rd PSP : Sliver 3000 Starting OFW:4.20 (NEW bought NEW on 11/28/2010)
    It a good idea to have "Hide extensions for known file types" in Folder Options(under Tool) unchecked (turn on extensions)

    its basically a physical IP address on the WIFI card that can never be changed because its physical....

    it's a read only address stored in the network board board, which is unique on every network board board.

    For those people who have special routers, you can make it so that it only allows certain MAC Addresses onto your network. Great security.

    Every network device has its own MAC address. This includes routers, ethernet cards, wireless cards.. you get the idea. It's so they can be distinguished more easily by other devices.

    the mac address is the electronics equivalent to a social security number, they are unique to each device and are used for identification

    You can't change your actual mac address. You can spoof it but not really change it. The only way to change it is to change your PSP wifi board.
