With the PSP Slim and Lite, would the additional RAM be enough to run Half-Life on Doxbox?

The recommended system requirements on PC for Half-Life are:

    166 MHz
    32 MB RAM

And the system specs of the PSP Slim and Lite are:

    333 MHz
    64 MB RAM

Running it through DOSBox would be slow

The best option would be a port of the game

I had an idea like this for Beach Head and Beach Head 2002...

    Min Requirements:

    Pentium 133 MHz or higher
    Windows(r) 95/98/Me/00/XP
    32 MB RAM
    50MB hard disk space
    DirectX compatible sound card
3D hardware accelerator cards supported but not required.

Would be nice to play those old games on the psp.
    PSP: 6.39 PRO B-7 - 8GB ProDuo | DSLite: R4DS - 2GB MicroSD
    XBOX: Softmodded - XBMC - 500GB HD | GC: XenoGC 2.0
    PS2: Memor32 - HDLoader - 320GB HD | Wii: HBC - CfgUSBLoader - 500GB HD
    XBOX360: LiteOn 83850c - LTPlus FW - 250GB HD - Gamertag = I Am HORiZUN

Yeah, I loved Beachhead. If I was skilled enough, I would DEFINITELY do a Half-Life port. Unfortunately there's not much to work with as not many Half-Life ports have been made, except to Linux and Mac.

Unless half life can be rewritten for psp emulation is going to be too slow. With Quake/2 and other games people were able to port the game engine to different platforms and languages. In that way it yeah it would probably run on the psp.

The Half-Life source code has not been released, and probably won't be for a very long time, if ever.

    no source = no port.

Yeah, you're right. No source code has been made available, I suppose it's always possible for someone to completely reprogram a complete copy, which would take a few years and not be legal unless somehow given permission by valve, which after that Half-Life 2 source code was stolen, I don't think that's gonna happen.

Just gonna have to buy a Sony Vaio UX :D
