had psp since it came out, tried quite a few shells. many of them were good but didn't get continued. except irshell with basically took over as THE shell.

now, question is, irshell is a tried and true app, but it's no longer being worked on (afaik) andi was checking out nervos. for forseeable things, it will be continued on for now but are there any things that makes it different from irshell? or would they clash if both are on the same stick.

    opinions on both.

[if this should be in homebrew, move it, but i figured it's more a general discussion.]

    indeed.

while iRshell may have some nice features, I never really used a lot of them. and NervOS' GUI is soo much better.

as for having them both on the same stick, there shouldn't be any problems with that.

from what i've read, it has the same features as iRshell. (true, i only really use irshell now for txt files or reanimg stuff/sending) but I used to use it a lot more. just wondering if it'll be compatible with future fw's.

so, nervos is a replacement of irshell in a sense?

if that's all you use iRshell for, go with NervOS. iRshell runs like shit on 4.01.

I doubt Pirata intended for NervOS to be a iRshell replacement, because it's quite different from iRshell. but I heard that Pirata used to be on the iRshell team, but I dunno if that's true or not.

i haven't got any problems with irshell on 4.01 on either slim or phat. (both 1.5 and 3.xx kernals)

just needed a headsup in case it stops running on future fw.

from what i've read and looked up, it is a good alternative to irshell.

    cheers again.
