    Re-engineered specifically for the slimmer 2000 and new 3000 model of the Sony PSP, Lite Blue TOOL is the only battery on the market that lets you enable Service Mode on the latest version of the PSP (the PSP3000 also known as the BRITE).

    It works in exactly the same way as the best-selling red MAX Power TOOL battery for the original PSP but includes the new features of being able to switch the Service Mode functionality on and off and built-in power indicator LEDs.
    I'd just like to say something, many people have been calling this a fake because it doesn't downgrade the psp's. This is true, but the description never says anything about doing that. All it is doing is putting it into service mode, which it sucessfully does. So before you all start flaming it and saying it's a fake. It's not a fake, it sucesfully does what it advertises. They give it a fancy decsription to try and lure dumb people into buying it, bu that's all I don't see anywhere that it says " This battery will downgrade your newest psp."

    Fat PSP: 1.50 OFW --> 2.80 OFW --> 3.50 OFW --> 3.80 OFW --> 3.90 OFW --> Pandora --> 3.71 m33 --> 3.90 m33 --> 4.01 m33 --> 5.00 m33-3
    Slim psp: 3.90 OFW --> Pandora --> Brick(Somehow?) --> DC v7 --> Still brick --> DC v7 format flash1 --> DC v5 --> 3.90 m33 --> 5.00m33-3

    It a good idea to have "Hide extensions for known file types" in Folder Options(under Tool) unchecked (turn on extensions)

    agreed. read from qj and so on. it works normally but the psp 3000 has a tight security on it. if u bring one file down the rest will crash. well something similar to it. hope dax figure out a way.

    Just out of curiosity, but what is Service Mode for? Essentially what can you do if you had a 3000 and this battery.

    It pretty much loads the MS before the Motherboard. But without proper IPL and other files it wont do anything.

    a smart battery that clones Sony lab equipment to put the PSP 2000 and PSP 3000 into Service Mode. From this mode, users are approaching the PSP with the access of a Sony engineer and can load old, cracked firmware that's open to run homebrew
    Source

    This gives the impression that it can
    With it in service mode, shouldnt it be a tad easyer to decode? (i dont know that details about that stuff, just enough to get by)

    is a step forward to hacking new mobos (assuming it actually works) but they are still not hackable at all.
