Default Sony believes that Efforts to curb PSP Piracy have been successful

The makers of the PSP, Sony have announced that PSP piracy is on decline from the last few months. The company says that more and more people are opting for original PSP content. This may be because of the reduction in the price of the original UMDs or because of the fact that the PSP 3000 is comparatively harder to hack. However Sony has not specified any reason for this decline

The company’s officials are tracing the online forums and they concluded that there is a virtual war going on between the original game developers of officially licenced games, like Steel Horizon, and the homebrew content makers. According to the company the consumers too are supporting the original content developers, which is a nice thing but as usual the other side remains stubborn and in justifies the pirated content......
    Source

Datel releasing a new device that allows the users to alter the PSP 3000 firmware and play homebrew games on it.
    Is it true?

i honestly think more psp's would sell if they released it more as a computer then a game system, theres just so much more to do with psp when you get CFW.

It's not a decline of piracy... it's a decline of good games.

And the fact that the 3000 is out and is yet to be hacked has nothing to do with it either. I can easily go to the store right now and get a PSP 2000. It's not like they're completely off of the shelves like the 1000.

Wow I don't know why they are just trying to enhance the psp and sell it for more money when they could of thought of a new idea for a handheld system. And the psp 4000 is coming out in 2009 and thats like the 4th to 5th one?
