Default Is buying a PSP worth the money now?

The only games I want to play are...
    -Star Ocean 1&2
-Prinny Can I Really Be the Hero (just want to play it to see what its like)
    -Phantasy Star Portable
    -Resistance Retribution
-FF Agito XIII (if it ever comes out)
    -Dissidia Final Fantasy
    -Crisis Core
    -God of War
    -Jeanne d'Arc
-MGS PO (mad I never got to finish it)

There might be another game or two I just can't think of but would it be worth it to buy a PSP for those games?

it's worth buying a PSP for Phantasy Star and Dissidia alone.

    your local used game store.

Your best bet is getting a Star Wars, or God of War PSP, as those are guaranteed hackable.

    I'll throw in my $.02.

If you have the time to play video games, than yes, it is worth it. You can get used Slims (2000) for around $100 USD. If you already have other video game platforms, especially handhelds, than it may not be worth it. In my family of my wife and an 8 year old, we have 3 NDSL's, 2 PSP's, a Wii, a PS3, a SNES and NES (yes, old school)...not to mention the countless games we have on our iPhones. I don't play the PSP as much at home because, well, a 50" TV beats a dinky handheld. $100 isn't that much for as much entertainment the PSP brings. I do realize that I am probably older than most of you all but I love video games and don't mind spending money getting games and the latest systems. If you have $100 to spend, the PSP is a great investment.
    Sig-a-what?

If you have to ask this after, hopefully, reading up on all the benefits and possibilities- then no, its not worth it at all.

I say yes it still is.
I use mine for so much more than just playing games.
I use it as an iPod for my car,
I use it as a portable DVD player,
    I use it as a Camera/Video camera,
I use it as a way to access the internet.

Yes the PSP has some great games, but not a HUGE selection of them. BUT I use all the emulators ALL the time. (The SNES emulator is my favorite!)

So I would have to say get your hands on a hackable psp 2000 and a big memory stick and you will be set. YES there are "Rumors" that the PSP-2 or PSP 4000 is coming out, but in reality I don't see it coming out for another year or more. They might show a prototype at GDC and/or E3, but the actual hand held wont come out for quite a while... then you have to figure out how to hack it... so don't hold your breath.

It's definitely worth buying a hackable PSP. With CFW you can do all sorts of useful things with it. It's a portable web browser, music/video player (supporting tons of audio formats, and many streaming video sites such as Youtube), ebook reader, text editor, emulator for damn near every retro console/handheld right up to GBA, image viewer/editor, IRC/IM/Skype client, and IIRC sound recorder if you get a mic. If you know other people with hacked PSPs it's even better; you can chat and transfer files without a wireless AP. And then on top of all that, there are even a couple PSP games worth playing (and you won't have to fumble with UMDs to play them).

The only things I haven't seen are a graphing calculator and wifi scanner. Hopefully someone will make some of those.

Basically if you've ever thought "iPhone has a bunch of neat features, that'd be cool to have"... a hacked PSP does most of that, without the DRM/advertising/vendor-lock/non-replaceable battery bullshit, for far less money. And the apps are free.
