    Default What the hell's a 5.03 TPD-3?

Not really a Question just a basic topic about it's release. (So don't move me~1)

The TodoPSP team's back with 5.03 of TDP-3, with a package that comes with the tdpDevkit PC tool, which is useful for those apps that work on 5.00 m33 but not 5.03 TDP. The tool modifies the files and lets you run the apps on 5.03 TDP, so you still get the best of both worlds, so to speak.

If you already have TDP-1 or TDP-2, just run the updater. But if you still need to upgrade your firmware to 5.03, you gotta download the official Sony eboot 5.03 first, rename it as 503.PBP, put it in PSPGAMEUPDATE, and only then you should run the updater.

    Features:

    * The full updater can do now, also, the low updater function.
    * TDP 'Recovery' is installed in seplugins. You can launch it, using M33's vsh menu.
    * You can launch 5.00 M33 apps such as Irshell (apps that don't work over 5.03 TDP) patching this apps previously with tdpDevkit.exe

Everything else that you might need to know is in the readme, so be sure to check it out first before trying anything. It's called readme for a reason.
    From QJ.

Anyone going to try this or is it another GEN in disguise?

I don't understand why people are so against using anything else other than DAX's firmwares? What's the worse that can happen? Brick. Oh no!

Whats actually interesting is that for the first time they have provider a patcher to get apps to work around incompatibility. TDP has always been a complete hack but until other shit happened GEN had a minor amount of support in doing it a bit proper.

after helping out in the help threads and the hardware repairs thread, a brick does not scare me at all.

but what does is the firmware persistant problems that continue to exist through multiple firmware installs and pandora firmware re-installs.

im really just concerned about little peices of code being left behind and having unexpected results.

This is why you backup your nand image when you install custom firmware.

I hate how everyone just bitches at something that isn't from DAX. It's just another firmware for the benefits of you guys. (Especially those that allow you to play newer games without the risk of a corrupt gamesave) But then, it's take it or leave it.
